Family Visitors

Well, all our family has come and gone. It was pleasant seeing my parents again. The last time that my husband and I got the opportunity to cherish their company was in March when we got married. They were able to fly out to see us for a week. We took them down to the new strip in Vegas. We visited the M&M store, the Hershey store and the Coca Cola store. We also took them to the Hard Rock Cafe. My parents have a tradition (of sorts) to go to every Hard Rock Cafe that is offered in all the places that they travel. My husband and I have adopted that tradition as well.

I’ve been thinking about using my Cricut machine to make a fancy little map to hang on the wall that has all the places the military has brought us as well as all the iconic places we see together. Sorry, I got a little off topic, back to family talk.

My father-in-law is a very sweet man. I’ve chatted with him over the phone and Facetime before but this was the first time that I got to meet him in person. He was here for about 2 weeks.  I’m looking forward to when I get to meet Matt’s brother and sister. I don’t really know when that happen but I know that I will get the opportunity eventually.

While all the family was in town, Matt and I’s old unit was TDY in town as well. We got to see Maddox again before he deploys to Qatar next year. He was able to stop by and see us between shifts. I was also able to bring the family on the flightline to show them the F16 (the jet I am currently working on) and the B1 (previous crappy jet that Matt and I worked on). We also some amazing family photos done as well.

However, I am glad to have an empty guest room and a lonely couch again. I loved seeing everyone but I think that visiting them for a week at a time would be a lot more enjoyable.
