It feels like I have known my husband forever. I love him more that I have ever loved anyone in my life.
This photo is from 2016. I had surprised Matt with a horseback riding adventure with Andy’s Trail Rides in Rapid City, SD for the 4th of July weekend. He was a little nervous at first but he adjusted to the horse very quickly.
At that point in time, I had no inkling of how much this man was going to change my heart and man.
Matt is patient, kind and loving. He always has been.
When I started seeing him, I felt like I was damaged goods. All my previous relationships had failed. I was convinced that our budding relationship would amount to nothing.
Somehow, we’ve made it. We have been happily married for a year. He is still patient, kind and loving. He’s never even yelled at me or called me names. He treats me like and equal partner. He shares the work of the house and his life. I never knew that marriage could be this happy.
We are happy and expecting our first child together. I’m immensely pleased that we have made our relationship work, regardless of everything that life and the military has thrown at us.
